1. Overview
Welcome to Melokio ("Company," "we," "us," or "our"). Every Melokio song is a personalized digital product — custom lyrics, original album artwork, and studio-quality audio generated specifically from the details, story, and preferences you provide. Because each song is uniquely composed for you and cannot be resold, reused, or transferred, all sales are final.
We stand behind the quality of our technology. If a technical issue prevents you from enjoying your song, we will make it right.
2. When We Will Issue a Refund
We will provide a full refund if your completed song has a verified technical defect that significantly impairs playback or audio quality. This includes:
- Corrupted or unplayable audio files
- Severe audio artifacts, distortion, or glitches that render the song unusable
- Failure to deliver your song after a completed purchase
- Audio that cuts off prematurely or is substantially incomplete
For verified technical defects, we will first attempt to regenerate your song at no additional cost. If regeneration does not resolve the issue, we will issue a full refund.
All refund requests are evaluated manually by our team. We review the delivered audio to verify the reported issue before processing any refund. You can expect a response within 48 hours of submitting your request.
3. What Does Not Qualify for a Refund
Because each song is custom-made to your specifications, refunds are not available for:
- Subjective dissatisfaction with the musical style, vocal performance, melody, or arrangement
- Preference changes after your order has been submitted
- Inaccurate or incomplete details provided during the song creation process (e.g., misspelled names, incorrect dates, or missing context)
- The recipient's reaction to or opinion of the song
- The song not matching personal expectations of how it would sound
- Requests to change information after your song has been generated
We encourage you to review all details carefully before submitting your order. The quality of your song depends on the information you provide.
4. How to Request a Refund
If you believe your song has a technical defect, please contact us with the following information:
- The email address associated with your Melokio account
- The song title or order details
- A description of the technical issue you experienced
- The device and browser you used to listen to the song (if relevant)
Refund requests must be submitted within 14 days of your original purchase date. Requests received after this window may be reviewed at our discretion but are not guaranteed.
5. 3-Pack Variation Orders
If you purchased a 3-pack and one or more variations contain a verified technical defect, we will first attempt to regenerate the affected variation(s) at no additional cost. If regeneration is not possible or does not resolve the issue, we will issue a partial or full refund based on the extent of the defect. A single defective variation in a 3-pack does not automatically qualify for a full refund of the entire order.
6. Refund Processing
Approved refunds are processed through our payment processor. Once approved, your refund will be issued to the original payment method. Please allow 5–10 business days for the refund to appear on your statement, depending on your financial institution.
7. Chargebacks
We kindly ask that you contact us directly before initiating a chargeback with your bank or payment provider. We are committed to resolving any legitimate issues promptly. Initiating a chargeback without first contacting us may result in delays and additional fees for both parties.
8. International Customers
European Union
Under the EU Consumer Rights Directive (2011/83/EU), the standard 14-day right of withdrawal does not apply in the following cases that are relevant to Melokio's services:
- Digital content (Article 16(m)): The right of withdrawal does not apply to digital content not supplied on a tangible medium once performance has begun with the consumer's prior express consent and acknowledgment that the right of withdrawal is lost. By placing an order, you consent to the immediate creation and delivery of your personalized song and acknowledge that you lose your right of withdrawal once generation begins.
- Personalized goods (Article 16(c)): The right of withdrawal does not apply to goods made to the consumer's specifications or clearly personalized. Each Melokio song is a personalized product created from your unique inputs.
This policy does not affect your statutory rights regarding defective products. You retain the right to a remedy if the product is not as described or is technically defective.
United Kingdom
Under the UK Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, the 14-day cancellation period does not apply to personalized or custom-made products (Regulation 28(1)(b)), nor to digital content once delivery has begun with your express consent (Regulation 37). Your statutory rights for defective goods remain unaffected.
United States
There is no federal requirement to offer refunds on digital goods. This Refund Policy constitutes our complete refund terms. We honor this policy as stated and comply with all applicable state consumer protection laws.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Refund Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of Melokio after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
